My Favorite Nail Polish Colors for Summer 2011

So, to update you guys on the Hurricane, it past last night, and thank God it wasn't as bad as expected. There actually is a ton of trees all over the place, and some flooding, but not in my little community. A lot of my friends don't have power, thankfully, I do, hence my blogging :)  But yes, around 15 lives were lost throughout this whole thing. These arrogant Facebook statuses saying stupid things about Irene are pissing me off >:/ Lives were lost, and so many people took this whole experience for granted. But onto my post.

Summer 2011 is coming to an end very soon, and mine was amazing. I kept my toes & nails cute in the most purttieeest shades ever. Here are pics of my favorite shades. Although I think they are perfect for summer, they're so cute I would wear them year round anyway 0:)
Revlon Nail Polish in 'Oh My Magenta' - A pretty fuchsia pink with teeny reflective pink sparkles!
$4.99
One of my favorites...Essie Nail Polish in 'Carousel Carol'- A beautiful solid pink coral ♥
$8.00
Got this in the UK edition of Cosmopolitan at Paris's airport! MissGuided Nail Enamel in 'MissTaken'- A bright, fun orange!  This shade is not available in the US, only the UK.
£5.00
Avon's Nailwear Pro Nail Enamel in 'Sunshine'. - One of my favorite shades of yellow. Not sheer at all! Completely solid and matte with no shimmer. Awesome for a pop of color on your nails!
$5.00
My favorite color of all of 2011...Essie's 'Turquoise & Caicos'- Such a pretty shade. Almost like a cross breed of turquoise blue & a minty green!
$8.00
B.S.N Plus Nail Lacquer in 'Malibu Breeze'- A beautiful sea blue, completely solid, no shimmer.
♥Awesome Deal♥ $0.99
Last but not least...Sally Hansen Salon Nail Lacquer in 'Feverish Rose'- The prettiest, most flirty pink I've seen :)
$4.00
Sorry I didn't swatch them on my own nails, I actually have set of acrylic on right now from the salon, so I can't swatch them on myself /: All of these colors look amazing on hands & feet, trust me, I've used them before :)

EcoTools 6 Piece Brush Set Review

So I was so excited that I bought more brushes! You can never have enough in my opinion, kinda like shoes ;D I saw these EcoTools Brush set in Rite Aid, and they looked pretty good. For those who do not know, EcoTools is a company that makes vegan, natural, good-for-the-environment-type brushes. They are available in popular drugstores, and are affordable!

So on the back of the packaging (which is very cute & resourceful btw), it says that it has bamboo handles, synthetic Taklon bristles (100% cruelty free, big up for that), the barrel is recycled aluminum, and the brush roll is natural cotton & heap. Now that is what I call friendly brushes ;) Click here for more info, and more images of the product.

So here are the bad boyss!

So this $10.99 set comes with ;

Blush Brush

Eye Shading Brush

Angled Eyeliner Brush

Concealer Brush

Lash & Brow Groomer

Hemp & Cotton Case
So these brushes are way softer than I expected. I love love love love the blush brush. The size, and the way it applies is perfect. I find myself randomly brushing it against my skin...it feels THAT good! The eye shading brush is fairly large, but still will cover a lot of the eyelid for all over color. It applies pretty good, and the brush is soft, just as the blush brush is. I'm definitely using it more! The angled eyeliner brush is out & in use all the time for me! I always do winged eyeliner with gel (if I'm not using Loreal Colour Intense that is), and the brush lines & wings are done so neatly! I love it. It's pretty soft compared to other angled eyeliner brushes that I've used, so that's a plus. Scraped up eyelids aren't cute ;x The concealer brush & the flat shader brush are very similar, wait honestly, there's almost no difference. It works fairly normal...just as a concealer brush should work. The lash & brow groomer, I don't really use tools like that. I use brow gel & good mascara ;) lol . But I assume it does it's job. Last but not least, the carrying case. It is so cute, and I love how it stores these brushes. Nothing falls out, and it makes life alot easier when looking for my ecotools ;D
This company's policy is an amazing bonus too. All natural brushes? Oh yes, save the environment!  They work extremely well, and they're comparable to some Mac brushes! The price, is amazing, and you get alot of bang for your buck. Power to EcoTools! I will definitely be buying more things from them!

Wet & Wild Palette Swatches & Reviews

So I bought these palettes at Rite Aid, & these are from Wet & Wild. Wet & Wild is a great, affordable makeup line, that sells everything from blushes, to foundation, to mascara & much more. I personally happen to love Wet & Wild, because I can trust the quality, and won't break your piggy bank :) Here are some swatches, and what I think of each palette! All swatches were on clean skin, with no primer & a flat shader brush. For more info on the company, click here!

Wet & Wild Color Icon Palette - I'm Feeling Retro  $2.99
These are soo pretty! I love the colors and how they look in light! I thought it was a very fun & pretty palette.  The silver color is gorgeous, but I was expecting a little more pigmentation, as it appears more sparkly than pigmented. The blue is beautiful, and the sheen it had to it was amazing, but the color payoff wasn't so great without primer. The pink is my favorite, & it looks multidimensional at different angles! Overall, a great fun palette, with good pigmentation. All shimmer colors.

Wet & Wild Color Icon Palette - I'm Getting Sunburned  $2.99
This palette is my favorite because of all the bronzey goodness it has :D I personally love shades like these, so I was in heaven! The frosty pink is so pretty, I love it. It definitely is frosty, and has good color payoff. I would not use this color as a brow/highlight color like the palette advises. I would use it half & half with the gold, and use the dark brown in the crease ;)  The dark brown, OMG. This color is sooo freaking dark, and pigmented. I barely touch it, and like so much comes out in the brush. You will definitely have fall out with the brown, but very beautiful color, and one of my new favorite browns<3  The gold is also super purrrrrty! I love it! It's pigmented, and has a good color payoff. So good for the summer (although summer's almost over waaah), and beautiful has a highlight. Overall, beautiful palette! :D All shimmer colors.

Wet & Wild Palette - Lust  $4.99
This palette was my first from Wet & Wild , which became main reasoning for purchasing more palettes from them. I did the tutorial for them on the post before if you want to see how to create a look with these. The light pink, and the medium purple is so pretty. But the dark purple looks so amazing in the crease, so if your looking for an alternative to black for smokey eyes, this purple is awesome ;) The cream color is sooo good for highlighting in any look. The gray is pigmented, and is great to smudge under the lashline if your not trying to use black. The black with purple shimmer, is pretty, but I'm not a fan of black, and it could be a little darker. All these colors are very pretty and pigmented, and would not disappoint with a good primer! 3 matte & 3 shimmer shades.
